Advanced Met. Training Course

(Mainly for Newly recruited Met. Gr. II Officers, Foreigners and Non Departmental Candidates from India)

Qualifications:

Postgraduates in Physics, Mathematics, Agriculture, Electronics or B.E./B.Tech./ M.Tech. in any discipline.

Period and Location: 12 months at Pune (CTI)

Main Objective:

To train extra departmental personnel including foreign trainees and new entrants of IMD to prepare analyses, forecasts, warnings and other weather-related information.

Trainees have to take a research project under the supervision of a member of faculty and project will be evaluated and marks allotted.

Mode of Evaluation of Performance:

Separate examination is carried out in each theoretical paper and practical paper mentioned above at the end of each phase. The result of each term is declared separately. The performance in the OJTs is also evaluated. The participant who fails to obtain minimum pass marks has to reappear. Certificates will be issued to successful candidates.
