Barograph is an instrument for the continuous recording of atmospheric pressure exerted at a given place. The essential parts of the barograph are an aneroid element, which is sensitive to changes in the atmospheric pressure, a system of levers and a clock mechanism, which drives a drum on which a chart is wound. The small changes of atmospheric pressure is amplified by means of the lever system and recorded by a pen on the chart.
